Resilience & Market Systems: The practical application of systems thinking to resilience challenges

description

During this training, participants will engage in discussions around the emerging application of systems thinking to improve the resilience of vulnerable communities. As practitioners continue to gain insights from applying systems thinking in resilience contexts, they are learning about the importance of aligning resilience frameworks and practice guidance with the longer-term emerging path to self-reliance frameworks. Initial efforts to build aligned frameworks are being tested, and participants will emerge from the training with an understanding of the new frameworks, as well as early results/indications from these initial testing efforts. Case studies from ACDI/VOCA, Mercy Corps, and RTI will be shared, among others. The training will also highlight possible next steps and emerging gaps in the learning journey as systems thinking is applied to resilience challenges.

Participant Profile

While open to all levels, this training can be particularly useful for those participants who are interested in resilience and systems thinking

Host Organization

EcoVentures International (EVI) introduces core approaches to market systems development implementation through high impact learning methodologies to share effective practice and practical cases from the field. For many market systems development teams across the globe (such as value chain, M4P, and other private sector development project and organizational teams), there is an urgent need for practical market systems development training. EVI has created a range of multimedia tools that can be used to change behavior and build capacity around effective market facilitation strategies and implementation of market systems approaches.
